Font Finder ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that identifies fonts on web pages. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Data We Collect

License Key: When you activate the Extension, your license key is sent to our server (meek.media) for validation and stored locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.

Screenshot Data: When you use the "Identify Font from Image" feature, the Extension captures a screenshot of the visible portion of the current tab, crops it to your selected area, and sends the cropped image to our server for font identification. This image is processed in real-time and is not permanently stored on our servers.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or browsing history.
• We do not track which websites you visit.
• The CSS font properties displayed during element inspection are read locally on your device and are never transmitted to any server.
• We do not use cookies or any tracking technologies.

How We Use Your Data

• License validation: Your license key is sent to our server solely to verify that it is valid and active.
• Font identification: Cropped screenshot images are sent to our server solely to identify fonts in the selected area. Images are processed and discarded.

Data Storage

• Local storage: Your license key is stored locally on your device using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your device except during license validation.
• Server-side: Our server processes font identification requests in real-time. Submitted images are not permanently stored.

Third-Party Services

We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties. The Extension communicates only with our own server (meek.media) for license validation and font identification.

Permissions

• activeTab: Used to inspect font properties of elements on the current page when you activate the Extension.
• scripting: Used to inject the font detection script into the current tab.
• storage: Used to save your license key locally on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
